3D Printed puppets in the making

Back to Home

We created these two 3D printed mechanical puppets for Lexus in London model making workshop. The exoskeleton is 3D printed and is 2.5mm in width over the whole puppet. The tallest character was 11ft high and was designed to move with the subtlety of the human form. Their bodies and limbs are controlled by the rods of the visible puppeteers, the hands have an intricate cable system and the heads are animatronic, to create the small movements that give belief to the personification of an object.
